Under the dashboard, forward of the gear stick, would be a good place for a little hearth. Feed it now and then with a Lincoln log. Enjoy the spreading warmth and flickering flames as a thin trail of white smoke escapes from the small smokestack.

Then park your cosy car near a snow-swollen landscape, flatten your seat and give your honey a hug in the pulsing orange glow and staccato popping of the embers.

       I have a 72 Chevy truck with a glove box big enough to put a little stove in it   

       I may have to try this sometime... I have already made two little stoves that are smaller than that glove box for other things, there would be nothing to it...   

       Some good music a nice little crackling fire...

       Some halfbakers are just so consistently marvelous, that our expectations are raised. I'd put FarmerJohn in that category.   

       I think this idea makes cars even more consumptive & pollutive, so it has negative appeal to me, but I'm not going to fishbone it.   

       But if I see one of the great HB icons start echoing uncreatively, well then, I may toss some fish thataway so they get good feedback. I assume all the HB regulars like feedback.

       Though I could agree that it is difficult to give one credit when they cry wolf. ( To make a prophecy daily and be right once in your life - accidentally - does not make one a clairvoyant.)   

       The Roberts, I was interested in why people thought that this was a bad idea that is ALL. I didn't say anything about your sexual inadequacy or jealousy and I have no clue why you brought that up and I will not take it back even if I had said it

       Relatively, the stove would not be dangerous ( with proper installation, apt users bla bla bla bla )   

       I do agree pollution would be increased (not significantly with a catalytic stove)   

       I guess I could agree that an infrared heater with a video of a fire and the sound may be as soothing

       With the proper ventilation, I think the only thing dangerous about this would be speedbumps or the surprise potholes that always pop up in my neighborhood. And probably trying to stoke the fire and drive at the same time but that's what the passenger's there for.

       I once designed a huge cigarette lighter for my car that was fed from the fuel line. I was going for a flame about five inches high appearing from the dash. I stopped building it when I realised quite *how* dangerous it really was.
