Like the Hummer was developed from the Humvee, an earth rover car should be produced (by NASA and Rover?) as a souped-up Mars Rover replica. At twice the original size, a terra rover would make a trendy two-seater convertible for fun city cruising and parking, or a superior terrain vehicle in the woods
or desert.
The electric motors at the wheels could be driven by a fuel cell or hybrided with a combustion engine. The Mars Rovers 100 watt power would be increased a thousand times to 134 hp and its speed five hundred times from 5 cm/s to 90 km/h.
With its distinctive flat top and unique suspension and steering, finding signs of life would not be a problem; curious admirers would swarm around the space car.

The disadvantage is that every schmuck will snatch one up and they won't be cool anymore. If they're really expensive, to keep the riffraff from buyin' 'em, I could maybe see it. |

I'll buy that. I mean, really, I'd buy that.
