This is obviously not a new idea per se, with various Mech
movies and the like, but it seems there is actually a real
opportunity to launch remote physical sports.
Imagine humans controlling humanoid robots video game style
in every communal sport from one-on-one sports like boxing
to even
team sports such as basketball, soccer, etc.

Why is 5G specifically required ? |
Existing hardwire networks can provide efficient communications without resort to RF comms; the "last hundred metres" can be equally well provided by any one of a number of low-power RF technologies. |
Can we interest you in some lovely 5G-compatible cybernetic enhancement implants, at cost, nothing down, easy terms ... ? |
Directed Energy Weapon... got an App for that ... |
Is it only me, who read this as a "Hypergravity Experiment"? |
It is only you. That would be "5g", and to be hypergravity it would need to be at leat 6g. |
5G would imply a change to the Universal Gravitational Constant, "G", as in F = (G * m1 * m2) / r^2 and would cause a gnaB giB. |

I hate those. Always interrupting a perfectly good
steak at Milliways with a bunch of commotion for
something that's obviously happened before. |

The trick here will be getting the mechs built.
Ordering parts is a tad slow lately. |

Ah, Sir wishes to purchase a BorgCo Interocitor with Quantum Transformation Replicator ... ? |
We'll send you a price list. |

Only if your business is not associated with Quark, or indeed
any Ferengi for that matter. |
No, this is strictly direct sales. We only use the Ferengi for flogging rubbish to the Klingons. They're handy for taking the blame ... |
... at which point some pre-teen hacker gets lucky, and takes over your planet. |
That will top the ratings for weeks ... |
