And I am getting fairly good at it.

Looking at the amazing stuff that other people have made in it got me thinking, especially a car.

It was a Ferrari F-50, and very beautiful. The thing is, although I could piece together the parts, I could never in fact make the parts to begin with.

Then I started thinking of those model car kits that people love. (or hate)

On a CD or on a website, you could download 3D models of parts of a car in a kit, then use your 3D modeling program and piece the object together, like a model car kit. It would be fun, you could apply textures, and resize them at will. You could even install extra parts and modifications on your virtual "model".

I think it would be fun, and you wouldnt have to worry about sticky glue and messy paint.

Have STL files available, too, so that you can print the parts with deposition/rapid proto printer.
