The cell phone display will have a much faster frame rate (using oleds) so that a series of 3D cross sections are continually shown. When you move your phone (ideally drop it into your palm) thanks to "persistence of vision", a full, volumetric 3D image of a person's head or any graphic will appear and be viewable by several viewers without any special glasses. For a continuous 3D image the phone needs to be placed on an oscillating surface (reciprocating display base.) It would also be possible to incorporate this into a bouncing, electronic basketball that would show volumetric 3D images inside as it bounces...(and recharges itself via motion.)
