So if they turned 70 today, decorate the party area with memorabilia and pictures from the early 70s. Gals come dressed in mini skirts, guys in bellbottom pants, play songs from the era and have lots of pics of the party girl or gal back then.
Might feature a Soul Train themed dance, or break out
the Simon memory toy or Atari video game console. Then end the night watching The Million Dollar Man or Charlies's Angels while eating pop rocks. (Without soda which will make you blow up) the commercial breaks would be complete with the commercials of the time including the Marlboro man, Virginia Slims for the ladies etc.
The difference between this and standard themed parties is all the pictures of the person being celebrated from that time. Ideally even with 50 year old birthday party pictures. Those pictures would be the central theme put all over the place.
