A very simple idea: a printer that screams in pain whenever you print a document.-- Pocketassreturn, Jun 16 2004 Steamy Documents http://www.halfbake.../Steamy_20Documents [spiritualized, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004] juke box printer http://www.halfbake...uke_20box_20printer [etherman, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004] "Punish people who do x" where x = live a life more interesting and exciting than your own.-- calum, Jun 16 2004 I don't understand how this idea is punishing anyone [calum]... motivating them perhaps?-- Lacus Trasumenus, Jun 16 2004 I thought this was going to be like the machine in the Franz Kafka short story that inscribed a miscreant's crime into their flesh. But this would be an elective version for the BDSM crowd.-- oneoffdave, Jun 16 2004 Where "punish" = subject people who do x to hangover-rattling playback of screams.-- calum, Jun 16 2004 my juke box printer could be loaded with screaming mp3s. therefore baked.-- etherman, Jun 16 2004 // Where "punish" = subject people who do x to hangover-rattling playback of screams //
Yeah... but I guess I read "sado-masochists" literally, suggesting their reaction to screams of pain wouldn't be negative. Moving on...-- Lacus Trasumenus, Jun 16 2004 I used to work in an office with a printer that did this. Thankfully I managed to get it upgraded to a new one after screaming in pain myself long enough. If you really want your printer to do this, try pouring some sand in it.-- DrCurry, Jun 16 2004 Printers that make any type of noise do not seem to be popular.
Anyway, I'm all for locking PAR in a room together with a bunch of them screaming printers all printing away all day long. Some of that sound might even penetrate up the nether portion of his alimentary canal and reach his ears.-- neelandan, Jun 18 2004 It's jammed full.-- Lacus Trasumenus, Jun 18 2004 when i got carmageddon i used some of it's .wav files as windows noise. this allows me to confidently say that this printer would get annoying very quickly.-- stilgar, Jul 09 2004 I can't even fathom what you're trying to accomplish with this.-- Tabbyclaw, Jul 18 2004 random, halfbakery
