an action-replay of the wedding as a hologram on top of the wedding cake

dearly beloved, we are gathered here today at this wedding feast to watch it all again, eat the cake and bestoy upon the lucky pair our blessing and our warmest half-baked wishes.

those little bride and grooms standing on top of the wedding cake are so dated in this technical age.

allow the guests and indeed the happy pair to watch the whole ceremony from start to finish with all the good bits & the out-takes.

       so... film weddings with 3-D cameras?
Voice, Jun 18 2011

       [Voice] And edit very quickly, in time for the reception.

       Might require a chunk of photorefractive polymer on top of the cake <link>

       (you left out the word "nude" in the title of this idea)

       no... that's the honeymoon hologram.

       // the happy pair //

       That's irony, isn't it ? We can recognise these linguistic tricks, you know.

       // the good bits //

       There's anything good about a wedding ?

       [8th_of_7] see my comment above about the need for quick editing. This idea would be *even better* for a divorce cake.

       Although the definition of "good bits" would be different. They'd be precisely the bits a wedding holographer would ordinarily discard (or keep in a special file for personal amusement).

       YMMV, [8th], YMMV.

       Risky; it might be destroying important evidence in the subsequent prosecution for Breach of the Peace resulting from What Auntie Vi Went And Said About Our Sharon's Dennis, The Rotten Old Cow.

       You weren't at my wedding, [8th]. Pagan ceremony conducted by my druidic kith-uncle, hopping over a crossed sword and broom, 12-year-old Irish whiskey, 19- year-old mead, three kegs of home-brewed beer (stout, IPA, and pilsner), more food than 200+ guests could devour in a 15-hour blowout, and nary a cat in sight.

       whisky wouldn't last 12 years in this house.
po, Jun 25 2011

       It didn't last a day longer in ours.
Alterother, Jun 25 2011

       Perhaps we need to investigate this phenomenon further.
