ex: search for "bijin-ga" to get a few dozen results. but to view each, one must click on the first, then click for full-size image, the click back, and back again, then on the second thumbnail, etc.
sure would be nice to click slideshow, to get the full-size image displayed, clicking each fullsize
image to go to the next.
cant it be javascripted by a proxy google frontend? hell of a good way to serve a boatload of ads!

Google's experimental viewer does a slideshow of webpages that come up as search results, but it doesn't do it for images, or at least not yet - maybe this isn't far away from being baked. (See link.) |

If gnormal got a patent for this idea (in 2002) he might be able to make them pull down their websites. I don't think any of them are making much money out of this idea though (so any infringement damages would be outweighed by legal costs). |

Prior art does not require previous patent application, only previous publication of the claims? If anything it would nullify the claims of the litigants mentioned previously. |

Yes publications (including websites) can be used to invalidate a patent. Sometimes it can be tricky to use an internet publication as prior art because: a) the publication date of a website is often not clear; and b) internet publications often don't have enough information to be considered an 'enabling disclosure'. |
