Thanx for excellent responses.
HALF- 1) Water volume varies from 10~50 cu.metre/hr, head varies from 5~35 metre during regeneration cycle. 2) Effluent goes to neutralizing pit through open trench. 3) Portable unit because various ion exchangers are not regenerated simultaneously. So same unit can be used on movable trolley to save cost.
4) 5fH in units mentioned earlier yields power in KW.
Suctionpad - 1) Thanx for suggesting various materials. 2) Micro hydro turbines convert energy of water having certain minimum head, flow & are available in market from 100W~ few KW output. They are normally used with raw water domestically.
My idea is to use portable units that can capture waste energy going with fluid in factories on regular basis. Material of construction is therefore very important for handling very high/low pH fluids (having nil granular impurities).
Another idea is to recover hydro power from cooling tower blowdown (which is done to control circulating water hardness).
Though power generation may be few units per day, is it not worthwhile to capture fluid energy totally going as waste. At least this can cater to some of the factory lighting power requirement. Battery charging system would ensure energy storage irrespective of the time of the day.
