An interview with Mother Earth

me: Mother Earth What is your appraisal of the global warming problem?

ME: I don’t have a problem. I have survived thousands of degree changes in the past as well as numerous hits by really big asteroids, comets, and miscellaneous space junk, also earthquakes and volcanic activity. So don't feel sorry for ME. I was once a real HOT Mama. I can handle anything you can throw at ME. It the last few million years, I have cycled through several large temperature changes with varying affects on the atmosphere. It's been rather temperate through the last million years with several small temperature cycles, maybe an Ice Age or two. Man is now interfering with the warming schedule through his atmospheric and oceanic pollution. He should be worried about his survival, not ME

me: Aren’t you worried about the destruction of the human race?

ME: Why should I be? Pesky humans are like a virus to me, they mine, dam, burn, pollute, and destroy ME in unspeakable ways. Sometimes I am thankful that they are destroying themselves. Whilst they argue about Global Warming and how to eliminate ALL pollution, which will take several CENTURIES, they create side effects that destroy their environment today. Besides, I’m ready for a do over; I haven’t really had anything exciting since I got rid of those overgrown Dinosaurs.

me: Can we stop this self-destruction?

ME: Man is not intelligent enough to control his own population how can he be expected to stop pollution, off which he lives, to simply save the world’s environment?

me: Should we fight Mother Nature?

ME: Don’t be absurd, you can never win. I am willing to work with you to restore the balance you loved so much. You humans aren’t so bad, but there are just too damn many of them, and mot are really stupid.

me: I can’t dispute that. So how can we help ME help me?

ME: You can help minimize the drastic climatic changes in climate you have recently experienced. If consider the function of the Gulf Stream flowing up the East coast of the US, and how we have interfered with it, the reason for the melting Icecap over the North Pole and Greenland become obvious. Another segment of this globe circling phenomena is increasingly contributing to the South pole problem. When China gets on line with its monster Dam, you will see more rapid changes to the South Pole. Stable Icecaps help control the temperature flow around the world. In the past, the Gulf Stream has been the main traffic lane for bringing water from the South Atlantic north to Greenland and beyond. Millions of tons of snow were delivered forming a blanket over the whole area. Snow kept the heat of the sun from melting the ice and prevented it from evaporating and cracking. The snow rarely melted but evaporated into the atmosphere further protecting the underlying ice In the last 100 years, you have shunted the water from its normal path by pouring billions of gallons of heated water into the Gulf of Mexico. This causes the warm water to flow out of the Gulf and OVER the Gulf Stream. It is well known that warm water attracts Hurricanes. Barring other external forces the Hurricane or tropical storm will go into the Gulf and feed off the warm water increasing its power. Every year the occurrences of hurricanes and their power have increased in the Gulf. You cannot stop heating all this waste water overnight, so come up with another scheme SOON. If you can get the water here, ME will stop the ice from melting. Doing this I can reverse the melting of the Icecaps with out violating natural law.

me: I can’t stop heating the Gulf water how can I divert the hurricane?

ME: You tell me. It’s your problem. I can survive without Humans crawling over ME. Maybe you can cool the water in its path and force it toward warmer areas.

me: Maybe I can cool large areas of sea water using rain if it were cold enough. By cloud seeding in the area I wish to have the Hurricane to avoid, the seawater would be cooled by the high altitude rain. The saturated air in the path will be removed to further impede the Hurricane from proceeding to that area.

ME: That sounds good, but remember other forces are at work and Hurricanes have very high levels of energy and will be difficult to control.

me: We can take control when they are in their infancy and not allow them to become Hurricanes. While they are tropical storms, we can seed hundreds of miles of water to the South and Southeast of the storm in the Eastern Atlantic and to the West off the Gulf and the Eastern seaboard. Keeping them from making landfall will ELIMINATE the deadly, expensive damage they cause.

ME The same reasoning applies to the South Pole, the Gulf stream is a part of the world wide stream that girdles ME. Also Tornadoes and Typhoons can be destroyed before they become deadly using cloud seeding. But don’t tell ME, tell some one that cares.

me: All I can do is work towards conservation by following all the tactics? in place to save the world by 2200 or so and watch the world decay. Only politicians can do something to help so we might as well forget it. They can’t think outside the box. All my statements are true and I will dispute anyone who cannot see the rational behind them. The seeding must be properly controlled and large amounts will be required to bring the storms under control. The sooner we take control the easier it will be. Project Storm Furry, a government study 40 years ago was deemed a failure because it did not meet the goals set. It did prove that even full blown Hurricanes can be seriously affected with small amounts of seeding. All twister type storms can be avoided by enforcing an altitude limit on the clouds.
