Computer: Text Feature
text editor for poets   (+5, -3)  [vote for, against]
word processor with integrated rhyming dictionary

This is really damn simple, you could probably write a M$word macro or (if you prefer) an Emacs thingy for it. Designed for songwriters and poets running low on creative inspiration - you write a line, and when you need a word, you can click on a word in the text and immediately generate a pop-up list of rhyming words that you pick from. Why rhyme "night" with "light" when you can rhyme it with "stalactite", "electrolyte" or "theodolite" ?

PS that's enough, bumhat. Let someone else have a go ;-)

As long as it would fatally crash and comb the hard-drive if anyone tried to rhyme:

...hands in air
...just don't care

Eugh.
-- General Washington, Sep 13 2002

Spring came, all the beautiful flowers in the medow
Threw up their petal'd hands in the air,
As if to say, they had seen the harsh, cold winter,
And now, in the warmth, they just don't care.
-- Zircon, Sep 19 2002

Do you also stand on your roof in a lightning storm screaming, 'God sucks ass.'
-- General Washington, Sep 19 2002

Yes, Yes I do.
And I have a nice suite of bronze armour which I keep in a tank of water for the purpose.
-- Zircon, Sep 19 2002

Ah, you have smelt me out. I should have known better in this place.
-- General Washington, Sep 19 2002

"Reach out, hands in the air,
Don't care just what they're saying
Hold out, just keep on hoping against hope
That it's gonna get better
Don't worry, there's no hurry for you, for me,
Everything's gonna come around
Shout out, someone will listen to you, to me,
Someone's gonna see"

Genesis, "It's Gonna Get Better". Ooh. Double points minus for "worry/hurry".

A fine Hall of Infamy, potted. Though are you being hard on Teenage Fanclub?

And I think anything life / strife related has to go, too.
-- General Washington, Sep 19 2002

While we're on a wack rhymes bugbear tip, don't forget the "time/rhyme" couplet of crapness.
-- calum, Sep 19 2002

Or "Love/of" as in "it's you I'm thinking of..."

As much as I love the Beatle boys, I've always disdained their overused "you/blue/true" triad.
-- waugsqueke, Sep 19 2002

Air and care is nothing compared to how annoying "Cry" and "Eye" is. Be careful [pottedstu], you might never get the the end of that one.
-- Pac-man, Jan 30 2006

anything that rhymes with 'heaven' (seven, eleven) should also cause severe system failure, and possibly send an alert to record labels that adds the song writer to a long list of "don't sign these idiots".
