----------------------

RingAI solves the problem with a preliminary chat.

Who do you want to call?

- The foot doc.

Doctor Slater, the great foot doctor you went to last time?

- yup.

OK I'll call him up at the medical center in Modiin. Just a sec let me retrieve their answering machine, (murmuring to itself, Ok that's 1 for Hebrew then 2 for the office, then again 1 for the representatives, then they ask for your id... stops murmuring) This is for Pashute right?

-Yes.

OK so I know your id, I'm calling them up right now. You want me to give you some indication that I'm online? Or just notify you when I get through?

- just notify me when you get through.

OK because last time you left the computer and the whole wait was for nothing. Just saying.

Imagine a guy standing at a cash register in a fast food place. A customer walks up ready to order and the guy says:

Hi! welcome to Fasties! Our specials today are cheeseburgers with extra bacon, cheeseburgers without bacon, and hamburgers. If you have a disability, please don't hesitate to ask a staff member at the prompt and someone will be with you shortly. Be aware our beef products are cooked on the same grill as several kinds of vegetables. If you have an allergy please let us know and we will clean the grill before preparing your order. There are various condiments available on the food presentation counter. Unfortunately if you wanted a different condiment it will not be provided. Blah blah blah blah chicken blah blah bacon blah blah religious objection blah blah Wait, where are you going?

> [A1] but how does....

Easy: That was even before the deep models. Guessing from the words that you say in natural English what you need, confirms with you if that is the correct search term, asks questions that are needed to complete the info, then connecting to the pre-prepared map that understands what all the options in the AVR are and navigates through it, until you come to the place where we need you, and give you the command, telling you: please talk, here is the ... [whatever department] for [doing whatever service you wanted]

Wasn't that clear from what I wrote?

(Until now the app was doing everything silently in the background).

STOP!!!![pachute] I am not accusing you of hypersensitivity, I have no idea whether you are hypersensitive. Thus equipped with my signal of virtue, please read on in assurance that I'm not attacking you when I say the following: IF you are hurt or upset by [a1]'s reply please take a moment to consider that this could be a chance (I don't know, I've never noticed your writing style, meaning in my book it's about as good as anyone else's here) to improve your writing style. Everyone could benefit if you just take it easy and we don't end up in yet another argument.

Sorry to have to say the above it's just that it seems the HB is on its last nerve as of late, so I thought I would jump in and pour some oil on the water.

Edit: Now that I'm paying attention yes, your writing is difficult to read. I note odd paragraph breaks, incomplete sentences, and poor grammar. You could benefit from writing out complete thoughts. Even if the sketch of your intent is written down your words lack the redundancies and flourishes which are necessary for proper understanding. A writer's intent should not be to say the minimum amount necessary to get the point across, not when words are free.

[a1] you used the conjunction "yet" but your two sentences are not in juxtaposition.

press 7 if you are confused...
-- 2 fries shy of a happy meal, Jun 26 2023

//press 7 if you are confused//

Hmm on this keypad, the number "1" looks very similar to the number "7" and I am not entirely sure which is which. This is even more confusing.

Instructions unclear, have obtained theory of everything.

OK. No problem. I like most of A1's remarks, especially since they show what is unclear. And I am definitely thankful and accept the chance for improvement.

I just thought in this case, along with A1's two links, that the idea must be clear:

1. The rant in the idea was clearly defining the problem which A1 definitely understood from the headlines. The problem: long convoluted AVR sessions. The solution: AI.

A1's first link: Can AI navigate phone trees?

A1's second link: BBC: Solving the problem at the other end. (changing AVR's into AI chats).

2. The headline: "just call up and press all the right buttons for me" was clear enough together with the rant line (which, with AI, would actually be part of a chat in answer to "who are you calling?"):

[now quoting from rant section of the idea] "i need the foot doctor that i was by last time hes great".

I even thought the idea was clearly stated once A1 asked me: "How does your proposed AI learn what button it needs to push for you in each instance?" and I replied that it would do so in a chat, (of course preceding the call).

I was quite surprised that the need for a certain foot doctor was not clear, and that it was not clear from what I wrote that my needs would be determined in a preliminary chat, talking to me in free English, and accepting natural language responses, which would guide it through the AVR, preferably knowing as much as possible about the expected navigation tree.

Sorry A1 if I'm frustrated. It's my problem, and I actually thank you for looking into my ideas and asking for clarifications. Please continue without hesitation. Thanks also [Voice] for the highly sensitive intervention. Yes, I am sometimes highly sensitive. But I'm happy in the end if my ideas are clarified (and even if they are proven to be not thought-through or not even ideas at all).

I will now edit the idea and hope for a resurrection of the dry bone.

When you are backed into a corner, when defeat seems certain, when all other routes are blocked or hopeless, that is the time to consider using the unclear option.
-- pocmloc, Jun 27 2023

When you are backed into a corner,
and defeat seems only certain,
don't turn into a mourner
listen to my sermon
when all other routes are blocked or hopeless,
when the unclear option is being considered
that's when its time to become coatless
and walk into the shivering blizzard.
Politics no more may be avoided
wars cannot be turned off with a push
when the unclear option has just been anointed
there's no hiding place, no beating round the bush.

Very good [pashute].

what he ^ said
-- 2 fries shy of a happy meal, Jun 28 2023

Absent capitalisation, "ai" presumably refers to Japanese sensuality.
-- pertinax, Jun 28 2023

That would be iro. ai is more platonic.
-- Voice, Jun 28 2023

OK, I give up; I can't find the platonic scene in "ai no corrida".
-- pertinax, Jun 29 2023

Good links, thank you [Voice].
