Gym that lifts the petanque sized balls against gravity

A multi level gym with open central core . Each piece of equipment has heavy balls of specific colour . As the machines are used the balls are conveyed to the top level .

This transfer can be done by screws , escalators , cable lifts ( what has the most gee whiz factor )

At the core is a loverly cascade of falling coloured balls so one can watch all that hard work disappear .

Clever use of water , lights , and trampolines in controlled fall path could produce some exciting effects .

Cool! Just to clarify: the work done by each machine goes to operate one of the lifting devices - so just to take one example, a rowing machine is attached to an archimedes screw, and the rower can watch his work being frittered away on lifting red balls up to the ceiling and then dropped.

Excellent. I think the opportunities for covert competition with the guy on the weights makes this idea perfect for gyms everywhere.

Pacino exercise -- "Okay, breathe down deep and flex those abs. Now, repeat after me, in your most menacing voice: 'SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!'"

"SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!"

"No, with more malice!"

"SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND!!"

"Much better. Now repeat that ten times, just like that, and then come meet me and we'll talk business."

[RayfordSteele], that's only one half of the Pacino exercise. The other half is firing a paintball gun from the hip while saying it (very stupid and hard).

Intresting. It seems very impressive. This isn't far-feched at all (people do many strange things to get fit). (+)

I was thinking the reward for the hard work was to watch your ball fall through a logic process (pachinco machine like) designed by physics artists . A path of water trough drops , hoop jumps off ramps , trampoline bounces , loop deloops , a chaos theory pathdivide , multipaths and billard collisions . ?? That guy that drew those pictures , you know ??

You mean Rube Goldberg?

Would this be the favorite machine at Goldberg's Gym? (Oooh I claim that one to bake).
