Sure, you would probably need a stationary handle to grip the door, but I have never seen it done for home applications-- Ratita de Bodega, Aug 16 2002 Have you seen my keys?-- thumbwax, Aug 16 2002 Have you seen the door knob?-- Mr Burns, Aug 16 2002 so the wall opens and the door stays where it is. hmmm can I get back to you on this.-- po, Aug 16 2002 <slightly off topic>There is a classic Goon Show (the Red Fort) based around Eccles guarding a door. It is simply a door in a frame - it's not in a wall or fence or anything. Eccles spends hours walking this way then that way around the entire door. "Wait a minute. Why don't I just open the door and go through it. That way, I'll get to the other side quicker." He does, and opening the door discovers an entire army that surge through the door and invade India. Maybe this "idea" is precisely for this kind of situation?</slightly off topic>-- PeterSilly, Aug 16 2002 random, halfbakery
