A simple cream like material, or may be even a spray (like a deo) that can be used on the tongue...
this sort of works like anesthesia for tongue...just 1 dosage of application and the tongue becomes numb for taste...
when you know there is a party...or a feast and you know you have to control from committing the 'sin of gluttony'....the spray comes to rescue...-- ravi kris334, Jun 27 2011 Hmmm... I was expecting it to be even more customisable. It should, for example, specifically nullify the taste of brussels sprouts, so you can enjoy your Xmas dinner without coming over all fussy and leaving a big pile of sprouts on the side of your plate.-- pocmloc, Jun 27 2011 Is a food craving rooted in taste alone? My uneducated guess says no, but this is so far from my area of expertise (if I can be said to have one) that I don't even know which area it is; chemistry, physiology, psychology... Who knows?
As for things that you can put on your tounge to numb your tastebuds, they already exist, and have for a long, long time. Try again, friend.-- Alterother, Jun 27 2011 I actually don't think that taste has *that* much to do with gluttony: it's an addiction to carbs in various forms. Taste is just the excuse the body gives the brain. But this could work, though you haven't mentioned *how* it's going to work.-- FlyingToaster, Jun 27 2011 I second the sprouts, and a parallel product for durian smell-- not_morrison_rm, Jun 29 2011 random, halfbakery
