convert water patches on ceilings to art   (+7, -2)  [vote for, against]
no time to decorate? water patches on the ceiling? touch them up into the fantasy of your choice

not talking cistine chapel here (sp?) or the raising of Lazurus sort of thing. more simple. ceilings are pretty boring really and I have been a busy girl lately, too busy for painting. But I was gazing at the water patches on the ceiling this morning dreaming of ....... who knows what when I realised that the water patch that started out as a lemon, and turned into a lion's face was now a fully formed elephants head with a deformed dali-esque end to his trunk. I am going to commit that to oil today with my paintbox.

And the men in white coats will be there to commit you to a sanitarium tomorrow.

Baked...I've seen it done before.

just read art of war and thinking of sending this to the bin
-- po, Jan 12 2002

Never mind art, you could turn this into a science.
-- notripe, Jan 12 2002

oye faceache, I'm not talking inkblots, the b*****y thing does look like an elephant, you saying what I think you're saying?
-- po, Jan 12 2002

Dunno, what do you think I'm saying?
-- notripe, Jan 13 2002

I'm not saying

From a lemon...to a lion's face...to a fully formed elephant's head.

Perhaps instead of painting, you should fix the leak.
-- Guncrazy, Jan 13 2002

yep fixed, its not going to change any more

po, perhaps all you need to do is to have a very nice, museum-quality, picture frame made that you then attach to the ceiling about the stain/art. If nothing else, it will make for a great conversation piece.

PeterSealy: I love Goldsworthy's found-art works. I have a well-worn book of his photos and even though I've looked at it a million times, I never tire of how clever his stuff is.

bristolz, I thought about that. bit worried about fitting it to the ceiling. major shock if it fell off and smacked me in the face in the middle of the night
-- po, Jan 14 2002

Why limit it to ceilings, ever noticed how the bubbles in the washing water look just like palm trees, or the condensation on the car window resembles a dolphin pulling a strange face - all inspiration of great works of art?

sorry, vim but you are quite MAD, take your medication and lie down.

Why not *paint* a frame around it?
also I am very envious of bristolz and deef, I love the art of Andy Goldsworthy but have never been able to afford the books of his artwork.
