I dreamt of a traffic raft, much like the heavily padded circular rafts used for "white water" rides at fun parks, with bumpers and wheels, that could be used on a busy roadway, with occupants suitably padded, helmeted, and buckled in. The raft was propelled by collisions with the oncoming traffic and a long, padded pole.
Obviously, the experience would be a little different depending whether you were on Fifth Avenue in the rush hour crawl, I95 on a Sunday morning, or Local Route 415 in Nebraska, pretty much any time of the day or night, when that pole would really come in handy.
(In my dream, the traffic raft broke up after being thrown off the road onto another road 50' down, and all the occupants were knocked unconscious, so I wouldn't recommend this even when you're asleep.)-- DrCurry, Jan 14 2003 Human Trebuchet http://news.bbc.co....england/2542973.stmThe Oxford Stunt Factory's death and maiming device [oneoffdave, Oct 05 2004, last modified Oct 21 2004] I know it's dangerous but it would be great to see this and I'm sure it would attract the same sort of people who design and try human throwing trebuchet [link]-- oneoffdave, Jan 14 2003 re: Trebuchet link.
