Coffins are very clumsy, awkward things to move around when they are full. So why not make them like the humble wheelie bin ? Two small wheels at one end, and a couple of fold-out handles on the back. No need for trolleys or pallbearers, just wheel the deceased quickly and simply from place to place, using wheelchair ramps where available. Other than the wheels and the handles, it would otherwise look pretty much like a convetional coffin.-- 8th of 7, Jun 19 2002 Baked http://toycars.what...b_17-ArticleID_2210Provided you're Tom Thumb, that is. [DrCurry, Jun 20 2002, last modified Oct 21 2004] Added benefit: you'd only need to make two friends in your entire life ... or one, if he's a really big guy.-- 1percent, Jun 20 2002 Just make sure you put the wheels on the right end.-- phoenix, Jun 20 2002 Cool. And the wheels could power a music box that plays "Taps" or "Auld lang syne".-- tharsaile, Jun 20 2002 You know, this would fit in nicely alongside my moto-bin, a remote control wheely bin that allows you to take your rubbish to the kerb from the comfort of your living room. These ideas are very similar, you know.
