The wakefulness thermostat consists of the following components:
A lightweight, battery powered, headband, which detects whether the person wearing it is awake or asleep, which wirelessly broadcasts that information to other components.
A heat or coolth producing device, which turns on or off in response to a thermostat. Possible devices include, but aren't limited to, room or household heating/cooling systems, electric heating pads, electric blankets, and water bed heaters.
A thermostat, whose set-point is altered based on whether the person wearing the headband is awake or asleep, or even based on how deeply asleep / close to waking up that person is.-- goldbb, Feb 16 2010random, halfbakery
