One of the next big things in wireless phones is the ability to track where a cell phone is & send it information based on the location. Usually this is going to be a commercial offer at the local Starbucks cafe.
Why not use this technology to fully inform consumers? You can register at boycott.com and set up a profile for your political bent. Then when you walk into a restaurant your phone can chirp if you're crossing a picket line or inform you that the tomatoes were picked by enslaved dolphins.
Other spins to put on this would be to pay advertising rates to push this information to passersby. Much easier than building a big picket sign in front of every Taco Bell. Runaway educational versions such as Pat Cadigan's Dr. Fish or a Shockwave Rider style worm also fall into this category.
Finally one could work in some sort of P2P aspect so that whenever N people of the right political bent were in the neighborhood they would form up a local picket for a few minutes.-- tenhand, May 10 2002 boycott almost everything http://www.halfbake...almost_20everythingcontains boycott.com [tenhand, May 10 2002, last modified Oct 04 2004] wireless location services http://www.manifest...reless_location.htmintro to the idea & some existing services [tenhand, May 10 2002, last modified Oct 04 2004] hotel employees union boycott list http://www.hereunio...callaction/boycott/The right type of information, but you have to know where to look for it.
