(Inspired by [UnaBubba]'s CarouSupermarket... somewhat obtusely.)
Customers are strapped into a roller-coaster car, which takes them on a 200 km/hr circuit of the shop. They can grab items as they go past (not on shelves, of course - maybe stuck to some sort of hanger), and the whole shopping trip is over in a few minutes. Have as many turns as you like in the one session. May not be advisable with bulk-quantity items.-- Detly, Aug 12 2003 CarouSupermarket http://www.halfbake...ea/CarouSupermarket[UnaBubba]'s idea. [Detly, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004] UnaBubba's Magic Roundabout Superstores http://www.halfbake...about_20SuperstoresSort of related... it could even be in the same shopping centre/theme park [Detly, Oct 04 2004, last modified Oct 05 2004] (raises hand) Is this gonna hurt?-- sartep, Aug 12 2003 What are you - chicken?-- Detly, Aug 12 2003 Do you get the customers free samples of pizza rolls and bagel bites by launching them at high speed from cannons on the side of the track?-- DeathNinja, Aug 12 2003 Yes! Brilliant idea [DN].-- Detly, Aug 12 2003 I just remembered, I'm alergic to hurty.-- sartep, Aug 12 2003 [jutta] - I did briefly consider that, but it was time to go home :P I'm thinking, maybe some sort of shop supplied mitt or glove? Although I dread to think what would happen to a loaf of bread being gloved at 200km/hr.
I just pulled a figure out of a hat, by the way. Maybe I should revise it downwards...-- Detly, Aug 12 2003 Or upwards for easy guacamole or scrambled eggs.-- Worldgineer, Aug 12 2003 Jai-alai cestas might be useful, they're made for high speeds.-- lurch, Aug 12 2003 [Worldgineer] I think it would probably produce more of a meringue like substance.
[lurch] Jai-whata whats?-- Detly, Aug 12 2003 This ride would be well-suited to people who want to buy a pair of trousers. Quickly. Feet first.-- Amos Kito, Aug 12 2003 random, halfbakery
