I for one am shell shocked.

Turns out that eggshells are not solid when they are first laid.

Well this just begs for a vacunest.
The eggs are deposited in a nest which collects, sorts, and washes them clean before they can calcify.
They are then deposited into molds which gently create a partial vacuum forming the eggshell into any shape desired.

Where exactly did you hear this?
We're talking about chicken eggs, right?

Yea, didn't want to be a party pooper but if the hen's laying soft eggs it might be a sign of disease or demonic possession. (link)

Still, if the old hen's on her way out might as well mold her last eggs into faces. She'd probably be okay with that.

Woops. should have added the word chicken to my search.

No problem. The upgraded and enhanced unit can be surgically implanted in the hen's cloaca and the softening, imprinting, molding, and re-hardening processes can all take place inside, so what is delivered is perfect and complete.

We're going to need a bigger chicken.
