I was thinking that this idea might me pretty popular in Seattle and New York...I've often had to go get coffee for many people in the office, only to discover that it was pouring upon my departure from a coffee shop. The Umbrella Coffee Caddy would eliminate the related issue of trying to carry your "provided drink carrier" (inevitably made of cardboard) whilst carrying umbrella. It would hook onto the crook of the umbrella so you and the coffee wouldn't get wet.

Obvious answer is to remain in the coffee shop, sipping one's own cup and relaxing until the rain stops.

I can manage a coffee caddy in one hand and an umbrella in the other. What I can't cope with is then having to show my security pass to the guards.

Wear it on a band around your head.
Security passes must (theoretically) be visible at all times in my building, but then again, we don't need to leave to get coffee, which is just as well, the nearest coffee shop being about half a mile away.
