Contestants stand in a line, each holds a standard valved orchestral trumpet with the bell pointing upwards.
A small ball bearing is balanced on the mouthpiece shank and inserted into the leadpipe.
In front of each contestant is a funnel at knee height, and below the funnel a bell, of a different pitch for each.
On the word trumpets away!, the first contestant to get their ball bearing out of the bell end and down the funnel to ding their bell is the winner!
For subsequent rounds the judges can issue sticky tape to fix some of the valves in the down position.-- pocmloc, Jul 04 2013 Advanced level equipment http://www.pocketco...y_collection_1.html [pocmloc, Jul 05 2013] Don't inhale.
