Cautiously, I stepped across the gap, grasping a branch overhead to steady myself. It was a long way down. Once across, I stepped into a cool, modern office with a strong glass floor.
To my left I saw a Note Goat sidle past the water cooler before it nimbly leapt in through an open window and landed by a cluttered desk.
A pair of nesting Peregrine Falcons stared at me through the window as I walked past. They seemed totally unfazed by all of the activity inside, until I realised they were looking at mountain vistas on their side of the window film that I could see through, to observe them.
I was fifteen storeys above the ground, high in a tree, on my first day at a new workplace. Everything swayed gently in the stiff breeze, as the tree flexed and moved as nature intended.
An Office Cat brushed against my leg, purring gently.-- UnaBubba, Feb 03 2013 ...in Treehouse Town Treehouse_20Town [hippo, Feb 04 2013] my office on the right http://www.flickr.c...miehana/4524794593/ [xandram, Feb 04 2013] I love it, I'm bunning it, but I gotta call you on a Halfbakery technicality, since you haven't really invented anything. You painted a wonderful picture all the same.-- Alterother, Feb 03 2013 So, you already work in a 15 storey office tower that's been constructed in a tree?-- UnaBubba, Feb 03 2013 OTS Product A (business office) + OTS Product B (treehouse) does not = new invention.-- Alterother, Feb 04 2013 With respect, [Alter], combination of existing ideas is almost always a new invention:
Water bowl + Heat = Soup cauldron Scoop + Handle = Shovel Motor + Carriage = Motor Car Motor car + Fortress = Tank Motor car + Bird = Aircraft-- UnaBubba, Feb 04 2013 Love the office cat. Made me tear up. A beautiful work of art. LOVE+-- blissmiss, Feb 04 2013 I suppose this would be the CBD, [hippo].
Carbonaceous Business District, or summat.-- UnaBubba, Feb 04 2013 Yes, Treehouse Town needs places for the folks to work. It all flows together, very organically. Lovely.-- blissmiss, Feb 04 2013 //Carbonaceous Business District// Right next to the Arboretail District-- hippo, Feb 04 2013 What [Alterother] said, but I still want!! [+] Baked by Swiss Family Robinson! Still want!-- xandram, Feb 04 2013 Ubie, it is a long-held HB convention that the simple combination of two things that already exist, especially without altering either of them, does not constitute a halfbaked invention. Tell me I'm wrong, anyone.
I didn't mean to make a big thing out of it, so I conclude here, and if it is diplomatically necessary, I concede as well.-- Alterother, Feb 04 2013 Anyone might not say anything...you know some things just smell like a baking croissant even if they're not.-- xandram, Feb 04 2013 I give half a bun for the Office, half a bun for the Treehouse. Hey that's a whole bun. [+]-- sqeaketh the wheel, Feb 05 2013 That's better, and much funnier, [bigs].-- UnaBubba, Feb 05 2013 random, halfbakery
