Tour de Bulls   (+10, -5)  [vote for, against]
Combine the Tour de France with the running of the bulls.

First, shorten the race course and confine it to a city, let's say Paris. Then start the race and release the bulls at various stages of the race. Riders may have to ride with, against or even across a rampaging herd of bulls and cattle.

(?) Picasso's bull http://cn.cl2000.co.../image18/jpg/02.jpg

Would there be any point to this at all?
-- pooduck, Jul 24 2005

Is there any point to either of them separately?
-- ldischler, Jul 24 2005

While that is true [Idischler] surely it makes the fusion of the two even more nonsensical.
-- pooduck, Jul 25 2005

You could have them riding the bulls for certain stages of the race.

bullocks
-- etherman, Jul 26 2005

I don't think most of those guys would have sufficiently strong arms to lance the bulls correctly...
-- ConsulFlaminicus, Jul 26 2005

Why confine it to a city? I say, hold different stages in different cities. That way you can get photos of lots of famous landmarks surrounded by cows.

As a rule, all china shop doors must remain open for the duration of the running.

Let's see Lance Armstrong win this!
-- MrDaliLlama, Jul 28 2005

I'm sure the bicyclists would appreciate it if you could find some draft oxen.
-- baconbrain, Jul 31 2005

Ouch! If someone fell off their bike, and started a gigantic pile-up and the bulls got there... ouch!

Bun!
-- froglet, Jul 31 2005

How very odd, that Picasso's bull looks like a bicycle seat. edit: it really was a bicycle seat!

+ for the goofy idea

Look out for next year when the leading cycle teams will be sporting a range of dull pastel colours with drab grey tubing.

Combine lacrosse and golf and get speed relay golf tourneys over and done in an afternoon?
-- reensure, Jul 31 2005

Flaminicus, I think Jan Ullrich has adequate pythons to fling a lance.
