Theremins are usually straight and pointing upwards, but if you made one that was a hoop instead, it could be placed in the rim of your toilet. When urinating, the note would change in frequency as the stream of piss gets closer to or further away from the rim. This would have two benefits:

1) When going to the toilet in the dark, the note emitted would change as you get closer to the edge thus warning you and allowing you to take immediate action.

2) You could use it to play music.

Note: This idea was originally in an anno to 'Musical Urinal' but I just took a notion to post it for its own sake.

Add a black light, which I've heard will cause the urine to luminesce. Then you'll have all the makings for a scary "Bride of Frankenstein" type toilet session.

Don't forget that Theremins also have a second control on them for volume; in fact, u could just set it up to produce one tone and get louder the closer u get to the edge but that would be a bit boring.
