A movie in which a small community on the arid planet Tatooine, located on the edge of the Great Dune Sea and reknowned as a tourist and leisure destination, is terrorized by a huge rogue mechanized sand-crawler which catches and kills unwary visitors - until three brave citizens, willingly transported by a small, juvenile member of the slug-like native species, set out on a do-or-die expedition to destroy it.

Noted for the line spoken when the sand-crawler is finally sighted: "You're going to need a bigger Hutt".
