Sunfloweresque Park Bench   (0)  [vote for, against]

Sunflowers open up, facing the sun, when the sun rises in the morning. The face the follows the sun across the sky, and then closes up at night.

Sunfloweresque Park Benches open up, facing the sun in the morning, and then rotate, following the sun across the sky, before closeing up again for the night.

You used to get something like this in Victorian times - a sun house-like structure on a large disc, which could be turned by servant power (or steam, or whatever) to face the sun.

I wonder how many unfortunate people will drift off on your Sunfloweresque Park Bench only to wake up having a horrible Edgar Allen Poe experience after the bench has closed up on them?

take [never]'s and [knut]'s suggestions together.

Get a park bench and put it on a rotating disc in a nice park area. Around the edge of the disc are light sensors which detect the position of the sun. Motors rotate the disc thus aligning the bench. lovely. effortless.

And with topiary shrubs at a distance clipped as numbers - the sitter will see the time.

Even when it's cloudy?

I like to face the sun during sunset and sunrise hours, but otherwise it's a bit bright and annoying. Plus, will this be hard to climb onto at noon when pointing nearly straight up?
