Okay, I'm new at the halfbakery, as evidenced by the fact that my two previous ideas are listing heavily to port and taking on water, but the very name of this site gave me this inspiration. It is impossible to keep bread or buns in the freezer and then expect them to come out of the microwave fresh and yummy. Well they do, for about fourteen seconds. But wait! StaleMate solves the problem. A button similar to the 'pizza' or 'reheat' ones found on microwaves, but this one zaps the bread as it cooks with an impregnation of water. You pour it in the top like a coffeemaker...or maybe a Steam-O-Zap of water with a teency additive that has a moisture half-life of 20 minutes. Warm it up, and it stays fresh! Voila!-- pleasefondleme, Feb 06 2004 Japanese Steam Toaster https://www.wired.c...ew-balmuda-toaster/Steam + X should definitely be a thing. [jutta, Dec 01 2019] I like it!-- MoodyDeirdre, Feb 06 2004 I'd rather buy fresh bread to be honest. No amount of zapping can bring something back to the state mother nature has spent millions of years perfecting.
That said, I understand the sentiment, especially if you're a busy person who lives 500 miles from a supermarket.
Welcome to the halfbakery - maybe someone will add a couple of croissants to your freezer soon.-- Fishrat, Feb 06 2004 I just had a thought - maybe a microwave rice steamer, with the bread and a little water inside. I might try that soon... (+, by the way)-- Detly, Feb 06 2004 Strange thing to want to do. I always make my stale bread into breadcrumbs for cooking with.-- squeak, Feb 06 2004 And I was expecting advice for dealing with old relationships.....-- normzone, Feb 06 2004 Enjoy a bun for keeping the frozen bread industry from thawing out ... [+]-- Letsbuildafort, Feb 06 2004 Well this idea seems all ship shape and bristol fashion. Especially as it seems it would free me from the experience of soggy-bread-hand.+-- nichpo, Feb 12 2004 I'm persuaded by jutta's link.-- Loris, Dec 02 2019 random, halfbakery
