Snooquet   (+5)  [vote for, against]
Snooker, pool or billiards on a croquet lawn

This could also be done on a golf putting green.

Snooquet would involve playing your favourite pool table game with croquet balls and mallets .

An alternative could be to use huge cues. (maybe a two person operation.

Croissant for muzza and kudos to Toadinnov for forcing me to reimagine James Wattana and Steve Davis.

Oh dear, I can see that I'm going to have to give this a croissant.

I'd like to see an indoor version of croquet played by people stood on snooker tables too.

God, I was going to bun this, but then realized I had it wrong. I imagined that you were playing croquet on a pool table. With cleats.

I'll got for it if the balls stand two and half feet tall and the mallet is inflatable.
-- k_sra, Apr 23 2004

Needs to have some features of hokey and curling mixed in. (And dogsled racing.)

k-sra, hmmm, for a moment there I thought you were thinking of something completely different.

What's on your mind, winsome?

This wouldn't take much doing. Just use all the available croquet apparati and set up the wickets where holes would be. I think steel cable stretched extremely taut would serve adequately as rails, otherwise, perhaps special rubber coated cables.

I was thinking of a similar scheme, but to be played indoors in a large carpeted auditorium or conference hall. One would set up croquet wickets and play using billiards balls and cues. It would require one to lie prone to make the shots. Libations would help with this aspect.

Great idea, both sports are very similiar already. People of all ages would instantly get into this, cue to the ubiquity of snooker. I regulary pass a club that has young people playing informal bowls on the adjoining bowling greens.

This is baked by a hotel somewhere in the Eastern UK who have a "snooker table" laid out next to the croquet lawn; the balls are croquet balls and the game is played with croquet mallets. The "table" is scaled up proportionately.
