This a device meant for riot control. It's a barrel-sized cannon mounted on top of a truck, with the ability to continuously fire large smoke rings made of teargas. It can save on those teargas canisters being litttered all over the place - plus nobody can pick up a smoke ring and toss it back.

Gee, I wonder if it would work for Bear Spray? Perhaps a vortex ring could carry the Bear Spray Mist/Aerosol farther, enabling you to use it from farther away. More distance between you and bear, the better.
