Not sure about anyone else, but I quite like going to sleep without the covers falling off. So why not the companies make sheets that have shoe-like laces and holes, so that you can put them on the bed, you tie them up as tightly or a loose as you want on the other side of the matress, then flip it back over. They will stay on until they need washing, and you can undo them when you want to.
Might be good for little kids who fall out the bed a lot, and for people who want to improve their posture.-- froglet, Mar 16 2005 Useful for bundling? http://www.infoplea...ciety/A0809439.htmlSeparate laces. [AbsintheWithoutLeave, Mar 17 2005] Bed with laces http://www.lndinfo....ipment/sleeping.JPGNot the same? [Mr Burns, Mar 18 2005] Sheet straps http://www.bedbaths...om/sheetstraps.htmlA little easier to use. [newt, Mar 20 2005] Not sheets, per se http://www.pxdirect...er%20Restraints.htm...but maybe there's something you can use here...? [DrCurry, Mar 20 2005] //what if you have company// heh!-- po, Mar 16 2005 Thanks for reminding me...-- froglet, Mar 16 2005 I'm thinking this might be great if you have company. It'd slow down the whole "I've got an early meeting in the morning" phenomenon.-- Noexit, Mar 16 2005 I find it hilarious that the above anno was by [Noexit].-- wagster, Mar 16 2005 Somebody just has to put it that way, don't they?-- froglet, Mar 17 2005 If the sheet is also tied down the center between partners, would they be called straight-laced?-- FarmerJohn, Mar 17 2005 I don't know [FJ], try it yourself and find out!-- froglet, Mar 18 2005 Before the Stone Age was the Wood Age with the twig hooks and loops of the Vel Cro-Magnon man.-- FarmerJohn, Mar 18 2005 actually, they would be little burrs off of plants, i think... bun for ending the issue of cover-hogging!-- spacecadet, Mar 20 2005 I would suggest a quality zipper rather than laces.
It would be rather hard to get in and out of though. maybe it would have a zipper in the center. once you are in, zip up.
It should have a bit of loose fabric near the head to pull tight around your body or else you wouldn't be able to seal out the cold air.-- RBStimers, Mar 20 2005 Ooooh. Ahhhhh. +-- reensure, Mar 21 2005 [UB] Not sleeping bags, sleeping in one all the time would become uncomfortable, and how do you wash the stupid things? Plus people would think you're insane, like you think that life is just one camping expedition after the next...-- froglet, Mar 23 2005 I think Una's referring to the "zipper" anno in his. I'd like some sheets like this, shouldn't be too hard to do.-- AfroAssault, Mar 23 2005 It's a sheet, that has laces, and when you tuck the sides of the sheet under the matress, you can tie them up, for poker-straight sleeping, and keeping little kiddies from falling out the bed, and you don't have to do so much bed-making in the morning.-- froglet, Mar 23 2005 I stitched elastic into a bedsheet such that the two sides were attached to each other, down by my feet. The whole sheet tended to make its way down to my feet and off the end of the bed. The elastic tended to cause the fabric to tear, too. Make it stronger and it should work.-- david_scothern, Mar 23 2005 I just use king-size sheets on my single bed. They tuck far enough under that it's difficult to pull them out.
When I really want tight sheets, I'll do this with my inflatable mattress. Put the sheets on with the mattress deflated, climb into bed, and push the inflate button. Makes everything nice and snug.-- Freefall, Mar 23 2005 I use elastic straps, with clips on the ends like the clips on suspends or those mitten holders for little kids. I criss cross the straps under the mattress. I got them at Bed Bath and Beyond.-- noglider, Mar 24 2005 you could use somthing like a giant pillow case and put the mattress inside of it, it would be much cheeper to make, but kinda hard to put on and off for a small person.-- RBStimers, Mar 24 2005 random, halfbakery
