Sequential Gourmet Meal Laid Out On Spiral Plate   (+10)  [vote for, against]
Let's you experience a narrated progression of flavors at your own pace.

A fancy gourmet meal where you go through the various portions with their progressions of tastes laid out on a spiral plate.

You start with the outermost samples and work towards the center. A placard would describe what you're eating with each sample.

For example: "Starting with a vibrant, tangy, zesty (fill in the blank) we move to the next portion, a caramelized, wood-oven roasted, crispy, buttered (fill in the blank) Then on to a tender, creamy, elegant, aromatic (fill in the blank) and finish with a delicate, drizzled, encrusted. succulent, velvety, infused (fill in the blank)" It would be a lot longer than that, you'd probably have 50 or so little portions taking you through a sort of flavor tour.

This would allow you to savor all the different flavors at your own pace and allow the gourmet creators to put a lot of time into creating a sort of taste progression tour.

Start with savory stuff, move to tart, into sweet, to salty etc. I assume a real gourmet chef could put some thought into what's the most interesting progression.

And yes, this would be only for very high end restaurants that basically put on a food show.

And yes, needless to say the desserts are in the center.

The plates are already out there and ready to go. https://recycledgla...spiral-plate-clear/
Just add the progression of tastes moving from the outside to the center. [doctorremulac3, Mar 08 2023]

Mount the plate on a motorised turntable and insert your tongue into the groove for a high speed multi-taste sensation.

Those glass plates look good but the spiral is on the wrong side and is spiralling the wrong way for auto-licking LP style. But you could use them upside down as long as the food samples were not too runny.

I’ll add segments to this to keep the foods separate.

I’ve never eaten “fill in the blanks” but it sounds delicious .+

Thinking different patterns could be interesting. Zig zags, wandering like a chutes and ladders game. Maybe a food pyramid shape with the dessert at the top.

Forgot to say the outer layer starts with appetizers.

The night would begin by standing in line. As you advance down the line holding your compartmentalized tray, the servers ladle the food into each compartment and at the end the kitchen lady hands you a box of chocolate milk.

When are you due for parole?
-- pertinax, Mar 14 2023

I don't want parole with all this chocolate milk.
