While driving along in my automobile, two cars from the right merged into my lane while a third car on the left changed two lanes, gliding between them to the right. They moved so smoothly in synchrony that it seemed planned and rehearsed, and maybe it should be.
Imagine 16 to 20 cars flowing in formation down a three or four lane closed stretch of highway. Now and then half or all of them exchange lanes, building a new pattern. Every other lane slows down while the others speed up. Or four cars in the middle seem to build a rotating circle as they alternately speed up while moving to the right, slow down to the right, slow to the left and speed to the left.
The thoroughly choreographed and practiced road ballet of color-coordinated cars could be filmed by helicopter and accompanied by Motown hits. As the sun goes down, the swinging convoy would waltz towards the blazing clouds with organized use of head, tail, brake and directional lights.-- FarmerJohn, Jun 21 2004 Baked by movies to some degree, I'm sure.-- yabba do yabba dabba, Jun 21 2004 I'd watch this.-- swimr, Jun 21 2004 Happens every morning, Highway 15 Southbound, San Diego, between Escondido and Mira Mesa.-- normzone, Jun 21 2004 Behold the ballet of Farmer John
