Standard wheelchairs have X & Y-axis motion down pat, but offer nothing but frustration for those who would dare to venture into the Z-axis.
The GROGco Scissor Lift Wheelchair is a cross between a standard motorized wheelchair and a scissor lift. You simply stop where you need to reach something on the top shelf, then the seat will bring you up as high as you need to go.
Also makes a great deer stand for handicapped hunters (GROGco engineers recommend the 4 wheel drive off-road kit for this application, and the trailer hitch attachment for dragging your kill out of the forest).-- Grogster, May 29 2013 Zeeeee, see? http://www.youtube....watch?v=ylLR6gLRm-Y [Grogster, May 29 2013] Wheelchair with power seat lift http://www.phc-onli...p/merits-p31311.htm [ytk, May 29 2013] When I say "lift" I mean ***LIFT*** http://www.google.c...:429,r:56,s:0,i:336 [Grogster, May 29 2013] This one is pretty good. http://www.thestand...es/manual_small.jpg [2 fries shy of a happy meal, May 30 2013] Gives me an idea...-- not_morrison_rm, May 29 2013 Many electric wheelchairs already have this standard or as an option, called a power seat lift. It's not a scissor lift per se, more of a motor-driven lift column. Still, nothing new here.-- ytk, May 29 2013 HA HA I say! Mention not these (discontinued) pretenders!
I'm talking REAL lift! Tree topping lift! Paint the house lift! Best seat at the concert lift!-- Grogster, May 29 2013 Why stop there? Why not a full-on cherry picker?-- Wrongfellow, May 29 2013 Why should anyone have this superpower, unless it's used in a ring setting for bouts of some kind?
Also, I wonder why more wheelchairs don't hold people in a nearly vertically standing position, but taller, the way I've seen with some prams?-- 4and20, May 29 2013 //Also, I wonder why more wheelchairs don't hold people in a nearly vertically standing position, but taller, the way I've seen with some prams?//
<ahem> linky-- 2 fries shy of a happy meal, May 30 2013 //I'm talking REAL lift! Tree topping lift! Paint the house lift! Best seat at the concert lift!
If it can't manage higher than low Earth orbit, I'm going to have to re-consider that bun...-- not_morrison_rm, May 30 2013 //low Earth orbit//
A launch capability, perhaps? The GROGco Engineering Department **does** have one wing full of bored ex-NASA engineers...-- Grogster, May 30 2013 Only the one wing? Sounds not very aerodynamic. Anyway, it's more usual to keep the fuel tanks in the wings, but it's up to you.-- not_morrison_rm, May 30 2013 random, halfbakery
