Schrödinger's Zombie Cat   (+8, -1)  [vote for, against]
bring the dead back to life or not according to Quantum physics

Repeat of the famous Schrödinger experiment only using a real, but already dead cat.

Here's how it works:

Place the dead cat (from natural causes only of course) inside an actual Schrödinger box. Instead of a decayed particle triggering the release of poison, this one releases a voodoo incantation which brings about the revival of the cat. (or not as the case may be). Either way, opening the box or communicating with its interior in any way triggers the poison which definitely kills the cat.

It is now impossible to tell if the cat is dead or revived to zombie cat status, without opening the box, and so it exists in between the two states, even though it started off as a dead cat.

You have effectively created the world's first scientifically proven zombie cat.

A beautiful exposition of Symmetry.

However, since the idea has the potential to convert a satisfactorily dead cat into a unsatisfactorily undead one, we are unable to award a bun.

Wondering where 8th of 7 lives and how many zombie-cats would fit in a standard UPS shipping container...
-- RayfordSteele, Jun 01 2011

Excellent idea... with a one way cat flap that only allows the zombie cats to emerge one at a time before assembling ready for the final assault.

// ready for the final assault. //

Bring 'em on ... we're ready.

Where Erwin's cat was both dead and not dead, your cat would be both undead and not undead.

Unfortunately Bayes' Theorem throws a spanner in the works here. Worked nicely for Erwin. Even though he had the wrong end of the stick, so to speak.

//Does that mean it both existed and didn't exist before now?// No. It means that you both existed and didn't exist before now. The idea came into existence on 1st June 2011, years before the halfbakery created a portal for your presence.

1. Bayes' Theorem requires that we know probability of zombies

2. We know zombies exist in nature: Ophiocordyceps unilateralis infects ants' brains and alters their behaviour before killing them

3. QED, zombies exist, and [xenzag]'s idea will probably work

PS I ain'tn't ded yet.
