Everyone loves a comeback story. So this is a genre of movies, probably starting with one genre establisher, that exaggerates the frustratingness of a series of situations and then creates contrast with a climax of epicly proportional comeuppance. Hmm I may not have expressed that clearly. An example might be a series of screens where the first person shot is stuck in traffic and an increasing series of exaggerated situations occur where the main character is missing opportunities, getting beat out, having to wait through multiple lights etc, and the villain keeps getting rewarded for immoral and unfair behavior and the exaggeration keeps increasing so that the main character's family and aspirations get involved and ultimately of course the fate of the world which is endangered by the stuff that the villain keeps getting away with to an exponentially acceleratingly exaggerated degree.
