See linked Reuben's flame tube experiment. Why is no one making home fireplaces out of these that flicker in time to the audio environment? Can you imagine seeing those sweet nothing's reflected in the fire, a visualization of your favorite Christmas tune... In fire? There might even be a weird feedbacky thing you could do by combining a fake gas fired fireplace with real firewood that makes lots of snaps, crackles and pops, and if the gas flame height is being amplified by the ambient sound scape, and each one of those pops comes out as a small conflagration that in turn increases the likelyhood of more pops... You could of course control this with "volume", "sensitivity" and other knobs on the outside of the fireplace.-- JesusHChrist, Nov 05 2012 Reuben's flame Tube http://m.youtube.co...lated&v=hip-4KF6z4o [JesusHChrist, Nov 05 2012] random, halfbakery
