Renewable energy electrocution   (+1, -1)  [vote for, against]
A clean, green death

I'm against the death penalty. But that the U.S. states where the electric chair is still used, at least allow the dead man walking to choose for renewable electricity to power his death.

This way, the about-to-die can indicate he's willing to help change the world, after all.

There's a discharge joke in there somewhere.

Since the prisoner has been convicted, it is reasonable to assume that after his arrest they put him in a cell and charged him ...

Perhaps the prisoner could be made to run on a conveyor belt of nylon carpet. Then, at the critical moment, she is offered a suitably earthed door-handle to grasp.

For a nice retro touch, have the prisoner stand on a trap door (or sit on an insulated horse). Connect a rope to a gantry at one end and to a generator on a harness worn by the prisoner at the other end.

Ensure that 13 turns of the rope are made around the generator pulley.

There was a solar powered electric chair on an episode of the Simpsons.

"Dude, we've been here all morning - could you at least remoisten my head sponge?"

Hmm, anyone fancy posting "Environmentally-friendly death penalty" ? Bound to be a fishbone magnet, but could be interesting.
