Just reading the terrible news about the Berkshire UK train crash. You have got to be kidding me. Last time I waited at a barrier it took about 3 minutes between the barrier coming down and the train arriving. I was referring specifically to level crossings, but I guess this idea could be applied to obstacles anywhere on the track, as it is not *only* at level crossing where this kind of thing can happen; case in point being the Selby crash.
