USB-powered robot-arm monitor cleaner controlled by mouse.

This computer monitor cleaning gizmo consists of a cleaning solution reservoir, a pump, and a robotic arm that has a soft scrubber pad at its distal end. The cleaning fluid is pumped through tubing in the arm to the scrubber. The arm is directed by the mouse pointer; the operating software for the device is installed on the computer. When the user wants to clean a smudge off his display, he opens the cleaning application and directs the arm to the smudge using the mouse.

When not in use, the arm lies flat across the table, below and in front of the display. The device must be calibrated before use so that the arm knows where the center of the screen is.

Over-complicated, prone to malfunction, and completely unnecessary; I love it!

If it can be made to explode, or make something else explode, you'll probably pick up the Borg vote, too.

Or, if it can be made to vote, the Borg will probably explode.

And therefore, using all my powers of deduction, I conclude that if it can be made to borg, the vote would explode.

(+) For the complexity. Will this replace the windshield wiper on future cars?

The DeLuxe version should have options to select different liquids and scrubber materials depending on the nature of the stain.

You can make it so it doesn't need calibration if you "simply" add a camera to the device and have the application display a known image (possible instructions for operation). That way if you bump it out of alignment it will be able to readjust and continue working.

Will it work with touchscreen devices?

Put a little baby oil in the solution reservoir and it might touch itself for hours and hours.
