(Inspired by Anthropomorphic Bathroom Fixtures.)
Designing a trash can in the shape of a person would remind trash-thrower-outers that its all a cycle and things dont just stop existing when you throw them out. It would rimind you that the trash can is "eating" the trash and that it has to "poop" it out somewhere and then live with that "poop" and ideally turn the "poop" to it's advantage.
For the design principle, see the picture "Fluid Dynamic Man" on the linked page.-- JesusHChrist, Feb 09 2005 See "Fluid Dynamic Man" Picture at bottom of page http://patricktimon...ven.com/photo3.htmlThe trash can could be designed with these swirly lines, with the mouth widened out. Anthropomorphic Bathroom Features Anthropomorphic_20Bathroom_20Fixturesinspiration [JesusHChrist, Feb 09 2005] How about designing a recycle bin in the shape of a phoenix. Maybe a really beautiful glamorous recycle bin would induce people to use the recycle bin more, and the trash can less. The trash bin could resemble a person with indigestion.-- robinism, Feb 09 2005 we have a 4 foot frog in the playground here to encourage the kids to pop their litter into his mouth.-- po, Feb 09 2005 How about a loo designed to look like a trash can?
Not many people care about what happens to real crap, let alone figurative crap. Maybe if it were designed to look like a hole in the ground?
Come to think of it, you could do the same for the toilet basin.-- egbert, Feb 09 2005 random, halfbakery
