Don't bother with keyboard shortcuts or extra buttons - just lift and bang the mouse down to re-centre the cursor (on the primary screen, if you have a multiscreen setup). Being old enough to have been brought up on ball mice this is a natural reaction when the pointer sticks and I now find myself doing this when the cursor disappears, as it seems to quite frequently with optical mice.-- robilode, Dec 21 2007 "Bang the mouse down" to do anything seems eminently sensible. It may even evolve to double-banging for special functions.-- phundug, Dec 21 2007 Brilliant. I love this.-- hippo, Dec 21 2007 if you use a graphics tablet or possibly some of the earlier optical mice with the special pad, this happends as soon as you lift the mouse (puck) off of the pad (tablet).-- webfishrune, Dec 21 2007 Not to be confused with pertussive cursor centering which re-centers the cursor when you cough.-- phoenix, Dec 21 2007 Would software that predicts when there is going to be a problem and corrects it in time be known as a precursor?-- egbert, Dec 21 2007 I know someone who shouts oaths before anything bad has even happened, he's definitely a precursor.-- phundug, Dec 21 2007 If these oaths cannot be printed here, could they be considered percussive?-- bungston, Dec 21 2007 PREcussive?-- phoenix, Dec 21 2007 If I get tired of your puns and throw the mouse at you it might be concussive.-- hippo, Dec 21 2007 <cough>-- po, Dec 21 2007 <center>-- phoenix, Dec 21 2007 Bang! ---------------------- !!!!>-- reensure, Dec 22 2007 Wrong sort of percussion.-- egbert, Dec 22 2007 random, halfbakery
