Waiting for the crosswalk signal to change can be a tedious affair, but no more, thanks to pedestrian education crossing. This online system crowd sources the creation and delivery of 30-100 second bytes of information, like the names of the supreme court justices, the 10 most powerful positions in government, the companies who donated the most to politicians in the last year, and then plays the audio at crosswalks while you are waiting. It would combine politics, education etc.-- JesusHChrist, Feb 27 2015 [-] needs opt-in.-- FlyingToaster, Feb 27 2015 Who waits for the signal? Aren't you too occupied watching for a gap in the traffic, to listen to some spammy trivia?-- pocmloc, Feb 27 2015 I was thinking that this might encourage folks to wait for the signal, even if it was just to hear the end of the 60 second list, or to listen for more underlying information like tone of voice -- just something to do while you are waiting, because otherwise all of your energy goes into a darting sort of negotiation with a mental conversation like, "maybe I should go now, no wait there's a car, no the car is far enough away, no wait its going too fast..." etc. which is what in the bigger picture most people spend their lives thinking, so in order to get everybody on the same page (actually maybe this would work better as zen meditation. Zen meditation crossing.), this would be a standardized bullet-pointed curriculum of what you want everyone in the community to know-- JesusHChrist, Feb 27 2015 Many pedestrian are dog walkers. New Dogs, new tricks. Old dog, old tricks. Dog owners should be taught what curb your dog means.
I am so tried of picking up sh..-- popbottle, Feb 28 2015 I was thinking it might encourage people to run, gap or no gap, to avoid hearing it.-- pocmloc, Feb 28 2015 random, halfbakery
