Now that tv ads of animals talking are becoming so realistic, get-in-first operators should soon be offering to provide a video of your pet wallaby or whatever speaking whatever words you want it to say.

I won't go into the perms and coms of the idea but there are plenty.

excellent! this would work well as video messages to friends and family, or possibly online like the dancing icon people, or like that dog on microsoft word that 'assists'. At certain times like feeding, a display comes up in the corner of your screen of your dog/cat saying "get off the damn computer and feed me!"

Nice idea, benfrost. I want the celebrity voices as well. That makes the whole thing classy, doesn't it? I mean, who cares about some no-name voicing my cat. I'd pay big bucks to have her tell me, in the voice of Judi Dench (of *As Time Goes By*, _Mrs. Brown_ and _Shakespeare in Love_ -- the new M in Bond movies), "Let me off your bloody lap and give me something soggy and chicken-flavored to eat." Fitting for an old cat like mine...

I suppose it's ironic, as my feline is completely mute. No kidding. She sits and yawns at me to get my attention, then walks off toward the door I must now open for her. Where's a half-baked cat doorknob?

How about selling people the software so they can keep recording new lines and generating footage of their pet saying it. The software could be pre-configured with the pet's image (or multiple images for variety). It would contain a discrete set of "mouth configurations" that the user could choose and pin to a timeline of the sound. There can only be so many for consonants & vowels etc ("B" looks a lot like "P" to the outside world). That would discourage piracy, or just plain letting their friends use the software (cos it doesn't have their friend's pet's image on it). If you wanna bake it I'll help!
