Cooks’ Visual Aid

Like the outlines on your garage pegboard, the MeAProjector puts a template on the countertop for the recipe being cooked. Sitting under the upper cabinets, it projects the placement, container shape, name, and order of combining along with the quantity of the ingredient required, with oven temps, times, and timing suggestions to make everything come out at the same time.

No need to keep going back to the iPad, scrolling around, or refolding that greasy dogeared sheet from Aunt Bee. It’s all on the countertop (or wall, if you prefer) with gentle throbbing visual reminders to turn the potatoes and baste the pork roast. Audio available if desired.

Projected Touchscreen Already Out of the Oven https://spectrum.ie...rface-a-touchscreen
Yes, it was a good idea. Then and now. [minoradjustments, Dec 13 2023]

[a1] Ed Zachary. I hadn’t thought of the countertop itself being an active touchscreen but why not? Best Buy has a 32” smart TV for $129 so a polycarbonate sheet over it would work just fine under the counter top.

I didn’t know of projected touchscreens being a reality but if so… Baked? Probably so.

The portability of a projector unit that goes under an overhanging shelf is great for teaching in different kitchens and is an easy add-on in any kitchen.

The active countertop is so much more tech, though, alongside your induction surface. There’s a talk show behind the canisters and the news is playing in the knife drawer. It just told me to move that spatula before someone gets hurt. First it gently throbbed, then got much firmer.

Debbie Duz Dishes perhaps?

I would add a tilt feature so that the wall can become the touch screen for when counter space is at a premium.

[2fries] With the under cabinet model you could have it project on the backboard wall as a template, leaving the countertop free.

It is definitely baked (link), just not at present applied to the culinary arts. Still a pretty good aid.
