Share your leftovers and eat your neighbors food

Everyone makes too much food from time to time or orders more food than they need for take-out. This food invariably is wasted a few days later when you don't want to eat some old meal. There are people who want to eat that food who live near you. At leftovers.com you can publish the leftovers that you have online and your neighbors can come over and get them. The system allows for both public and private leftover groups to allow you to control how publicly you make your leftovers available.

The leftovers.com system also would provide a points and ratings system to allow people to provide feedback and reward the people who provided them with leftovers. Each meal would be awarded points against a standard scale so that more generous leftovers.com users gain points that they can exchange with ones that aren't sharing enough or to restrict their leftovers to people who are maintaining a reasonable balance of points. The feedback would help everyone know how good aunt martha's meatloaf really is.

Great! I won't need to spend my money on groceries, nor my time on cooking ever again. I'll just have to go online and see what's for dinner tonight. [+]

That Greek couple down the street would start getting suspicious. Always calling to see if they're done yet ...
