Chaotic rippled cobalt light
Reflecting off the paraffin
Along my walks at dusk and night
From car to house and there again

In winter you will melt a column
Flakes reflect a bluish glow
Aquatic dancing waxen golum
Waxing light in waning snow

Like sentries placed along my path
Standing stately in a row
Their brains in alcoholic bath
Boil gently at my toe

In background darkness show delight
Their snowy branches stretch and move

Such mesmerizing theatre
Performing on your winter lawn
Moves light about in quite motion

One wonders, though, would lava work
When mantled under frozen snow?
Would paraffin form frozen chunks
That float on top instead of flow?

Would bitter cold on wintry nights
Impede the mixture there within?
Does anybody out there know
The freezing point of paraffin?

Or does the need arise to use
A bulb that burns with extra heat?
A thousand watts, or more, perhaps
Would melt the snow around our feet.

And clear a path to walk upon
Dry-footed from the street to home
While psychedelic globs of light
Illuminate the garden gnome.

Dec'rative types might find this swag
